Regular Meeting - 20th April 2012

Regular meeting of Rotaract Club, Kuliyapitiya  was held on 20th April 2012. the annual plan was presented by the president and all the members were accepted it. after that we discussed about our first project and the  fund raising activities.

Inauguration of Rotaract Club Kuliyapitiya

                                               

               Our inaugurating meeting was held on the 5^th of April at Shilpa Shalika hall situated in the heart of the Kuliyapitiya city. This charter meeting was organized together with the rotary club of Kuliyapitiya, members from the rotary club of Kuliyapitya guided and supported us through out to make this day a success. All the new Rotaractors and the ones who were willing to join the club were warmly welcomed by our fellow Rotarians.

               Initially after the meeting began the Rotary club president Rtn Sanath Jayakody introduced all the members of the rotary club and made us all aware of the importance of a Rotaract club which gave us an immense courage to form our own Rotaract club. Afterwards was a speech by the past president Rtn. PHF Kumara Lekamge where he widened our knowledge through an amazing speech about the very basics but vitally important facts such as,

·       the history of the rotary club 

·       when was it founded

·       what happens in a rotary club and the services rendered

·       why rotary club is considered as an International club

After his speech on the above areas we had a clear idea about what a rotary club is. Next he moved on to speak about the most important things, he explained to us the fact that rotary club is the mother club of the Rotaract club and the Rotaract club is only for youngsters from the age group between 18 to 30, also he explained to us the meaning of the word “ROTARACT” which means “Rotary in action”.

                       Next was a speech by the elected secretary Rtn. Udaya Pushpakumara and he spoke to us about our own Rotaract club he gave us a wide knowledge about our duties and responsibilities as a Rotaractor he also acknowledged us about how we should maintain professionalism and how we should always work together as a team because unity is the key to success. Most importantly he presented us the constitution and the rules and regulations which are vitally important when carrying out work together as a Rotaract club.

          Next it was the opportunity for all the Rotaractors to introduce them selves  where each member got the oppurtunity to give a brief introduction about his or her self. Hereafter it was time to elect the new office bearers, where Sajith Gamage proposed Rtr Anuja Madushan as the president and Rtr Isurujith Amarasinghe seconded it and Rtr Binthi Adikari proposed Rtr Chanali Lekamge as the secretary and Rtr Isuru Marvan seconded it, Rtr kaveesha Adikari proposed the Rtr Nilushka Perera as the vice president and Rtr Charith Kanishka seconded it and Rtr Ashan Akalanka propsed the Rtr Sajith Gamage as the treasurer and Rtr Asuntha Thenuwara seconded it, finaly our office bearers were as follows,

               President of the Rotaract club of Kuliyapitiya           -Rtr Anuja Madushan

               Vice president of the Rotaract club of Kuliyapitiya  -Rtr Nilushka Perera

               Secretary of the Rotaract club of Kuliyapitiya           -Rtr Chanali Lekamge

               Treasurer of Rotaract club of Kuliyapitiya                 -Rtr Sajith Gamage

          

The day came to an end with a speech by  the newly appointed charter president of the Rotaract club of Kuliyaypitiya Rtr Anuja Madushan and the vote of thanks delivered by the secretary Rtr Chanali Lekamge. It was a great day where we did unite to make dreams real!
